Jalpaiguri Feb 28: Guardians of two class V girl students of a government school have lodged a complaint with Kotwali police station here alleging that their daughters were molested by one Tarapada Lohar, a group D employee of the school on February 25.

According to the complaint the incident occurred at Jalpaiguri Government Girl’s High School and the parents also complained that their complaint on the matter with the school went unheard. The accused Lohar is untraceable after the complain was filed.

On February 25 after the school was over the two girls were playing in the school ground while waiting for their guardians to take them home. Taking the opportunity of the situation, Lohar forcefully molested the girls and allegedly forced the girl to touch his private parts.

Horrified with the act, the duo ran towards the school gate where they saw their parents coming towards the school. Later on reaching the school, the girls recounted the incidents with their parents.

The very next day the guardians complained about the incident to the Head Mistress of the school Madhabi Talukdar. The guardians alleged that the head mistress took the matter lightly and instead tried to convince them by asking them not to take any step against the employee.

Talukdar on Thursday however refuted such allegations. “I did not try to save the accused. There is no question of me standing beside Lohar. If he is guilty he will be punished,” said Talukdar.

The guardians however want transfer of the employee. “How can I send my ward to the school unless the culprit is not removed,” said one of the guardians. The police have started a massive drive to nab the accused.

The District Magistrate however has assured that legal steps would be taken against the accused.
