The spiritual leader ends his 6 day tour to
the region
Siliguri March 29: The rich people in China
has become much more influential within the Communist Party of China while the
number of poor people is increasing day by day but in the last ten years the
country that boosts of having economic power in todays world is also changing
in its attitude with the outer world, the 14th Dalai Lama, who is
the spiritual leader of Tibetans living in exile and Tibet opined on Friday.
The Dalai Lama ended his six day Sikkim and
Siliguri tour today. On the last day of his tour here at Salugara today, the
spiritual leader told a press conference that it is time now for the country
having economic power to look towards India and respect the cultural and
linguistic diversity of the Chinese people. “If it can do so the communist
country can play an important and productive role around the worlds,” Dalai
Lama told journalists expressing simultaneously the positive changes that have
taken place in the country over a decade or so.
“China and its leaders should work
accordingly along with reality. The country has seen some positive changes over
the last 10 years. The country that boosts of economic power in the world
however has changed its conduct with the outside world. China can play
a much crucial role in the world but it is importantly essential to respect the
outer world. Transparency is a must factor,” added Dalai Lama.
Setting the example of India he further continued, “India is a
culturally diversified, stable and peaceful country that has no danger of
splitting. The danger of splitting, unification and integrity can be achieved
by freedom of speech, freedom of press and the rule of law that is significant
in the modern society”.
Dalai Lama however being optimistic said it
is not wise to expect wide change immediately given the changes witnessed in China
in the last 10 years.
