Kalimpong Feb 15: Hours after CBI arrested five youth leaders, Binay Tamang the Assistant General Secretary of the GJM responding quickly said that the arrested persons are not ‘the actual culprits’ and that they have been arrested only because their names figure in the charge sheet. “Whether they actually committed the crime or not will be known only after the court gives its verdict. It is not the right time to comment on the arrest as they have not been acquitted. Only because their names figure in the charge sheet does not mean that they have committed the murder,” Tamang told journalists here today.

“The CBI can arrest anyone during investigation and the investigation is going on,” he added.
The Morcha is setting itself for a mass public rally here in Kalimpong on February 17 where it has promised to bring in 6 lakh supporters and a bike rally to show the strength of the party ahead of announcing its future course of action for fresh statehood agitation. Following the daily routine of carrying out a torch rally in the evening, the GJM activists today also took out the same in Kalimpong where Morcha supporter from different wards took part. The torch rally after encircling the town ended at Damber Chowk.
