The
GTA chief Bimal Gurung has further ordered the civic body to enquire whether
the incident spot belonged to the civic body or not immediately. “I have
instructed the chairman of the civic body to enquire whether the lost property
belonged to the municipality. If it belongs to the municipality it would be
easy to reconstruct a new complex at the same plot. We are also in the process
to send the hill civic chairmen to Kolkata who will meet the concerned officials
and seek plans to avert such incidents in the future,” said Gurung.
“Thirty five members from the ten families
lost their property worth Rs. 23 crore,” said Binay Tamang, the Assistant
Secretary of the GJM.
